Children in the Son La province received free health assessments, with some of them going on to have life-changing surgery at the Hanoi Orthopedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Hospital.

As well as funding the operations, Donxa provided additional support for some of the impoverished families by covering travel expenses, rehabilitation tools, additional health checks and surgery costs. For many families these operations would simply be impossible to fund. The first round of operations took place in December 2010 and continued into 2011.

December proved to be a busy month for Donxa as it also saw the completion and opening of a new Rehabilitation Room in the Soc Son Training and Nursing School for Disabled Children. Work began on the new facilities at the beginning of the year and there was much to be done, including repairs to the roof and overall structure as well as damp treatment for the walls. The rooms were then freshly decorated and fitted with new furniture and equipment. The opening ceremony took place on 27th December 2010.
